Ismael Rodriguez

Master Artist Instructor

Working_edited.jpg

Ismael has been a life long artist (attended Fiorella LaGuardia HS of Music & Art in New York City and went on to get a BFA and BA). After almost 30 years in the human services field and as an educator, he voluntarily ‘retired’ to pursue life-long ambitions: actively pursuing creative endeavors (art, writing, acting) and guiding individuals to healthier lifestyles as a swim and triathlon coach. Though he is 'semi-retired' from triathlons he remains very active with hiking, swimming, cycling, and other fitness activities.

He's had several exhibitions over the years in New York City and was the Artist-In-Residence at the now defunct Agueybana Bookstore in 1997. In June, 2020 he hosted a virtual art exhibition to celebrate Puerto Rican heritage and in September, 2020 had an outdoor exhibition at the Boogie Down Grind Cafe paying homage to his Bronx roots. Ismael's work is also featured at the Negro League Baseball Museum.

His love for the Adirondack region and his passion for art and teaching have all come together to create a magical place: The Peaks Paintbar.
