Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up for a public event?

Check out our event section and choose the date and time of the event you wish to attend, the piece that you want to paint, and book the event online! We encourage you to book in advance of the event and not rely on 'walk-in' admissions as we may cancel an event if we do not get advance bookings (we usually wait until an hour before an event and will cancel if there are no advance bookings).

How often do you update the public event calendar?

We will typically update our public event calendar on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. On occasion we may either change a painting or leave it up to the artist to provide the painting for that session/date. We encourage everyone to check the site frequently for those particular updates.

Can children come to public events?

Yes! Children can come with their parents, grandparents, guardians etc. for any listed session – however we encourage families with children to attend afternoon sessions. Children under 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Any child that will be painting will be required to have a booked seat. Newborns and toddlers that are not painting should have their own seating (strollers, etc) as we do not provide high chairs for the little humans.

What is your cancellation policy for public events?

In order to provide you with an optimal experience, we have a firm cancellation policy.

  • If you cancel more than 24 hours before your scheduled event, we will issue a credit for the full amount of your seats. The credit can be used towards the make-up session of your choice (within a reasonable time frame), pending availability. Please note that only one voucher/reschedule of this type will be granted).

  • If you cancel with less than 24 hour’s notice of your scheduled event time (including those bookings made less than 24 hours before the start of the event) or fail to show, you will not have the option to receive a voucher or reschedule.

  • If you miss your event, unfortunately, we are not able to provide a refund or session credit.

  • Email us at

The Peaks Paintbar reserves the right to cancel events for any reason. Registrants will be notified prior to the event’s start time and refunds will be processed accordingly.

Do you serve food and/or drinks?

Yes, we have a variety of treats and a selection of beer, ciders & wine.

What if I am running late?

You may still attend the session; however, the session starts promptly at the scheduled time you signed up for. Please be advised, we do not offer a refund or a reschedule in the event you are late for your session.

Purchasing alcohol?

You must provide proper identification and be at least 21 years of age upon ordering any alcoholic beverage. This policy will be strictly enforced.

Can I bring my own food or drinks?

No outside food or drink is allowed in our studio. We offer food and drink for purchase.

Contact us at to discuss the available options.

Where do I park?

There is no dedicated parking spot. You are encouraged to use available street parking or any of the municipal lots in the Lake Placid village area. Please note our address – 2422 Main Street -when planning.

Can I come to an event without reserving a seat in advance?

Yes! But we recommend signing up in advance to ensure you have a saved seat.

Is there a bad weather policy?

The Peaks Paintbar’s first concern is for the safety of our guests and instructors. When extreme weather is an issue, we’ll consult with neighboring businesses and then make a decision as to whether we will cancel the session or not. If we cancel the session, we will notify all guests that have signed up in advance immediately, via email. If we remain open, and you are coming from a distance or are not comfortable attending the session, please send us an email and we can help you reschedule your session to a date that occurs within the next 30 days.
